Goodreads Review: "This is a fair adaptation of the Disney movie, so if you enjoyed the film, then you will certainly like this. The illustrations are faithfully rendered and the color beautifully matches my memory of The Rescuers. Bernard and Bianca bravely set forth to rescue the orphan Penny, and children will cheer as they overcome obstacles and save the day. Recommended."Rachel, August 14, 2015
Notes: A personal childhood favorite. The Rescuers was part of Disney's Wonderful World of Reading, a books-by-mail program which thrived in the 1970s and '80s. A 1978 ad offered an initial batch of three books for $2.25 plus delivery, with a free copy of Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too and a plastic book case with Mickey Mouse overseeing the young Disney book collector's set.
