Notes: Since 1954, Popular Electronics had been a valuable resource for home hobbyists interested in electronic gizmos or those who want to modify an existing gizmo (such as the "Add a Distinctive Extension Phone Ring to Your Telephone" article in this issue). The rise of home computers in the late '70s and early '80s prompted a name change later on in 1982, to Computers and Electronics. Despite multiple owners and name changes, the magazine survived in some form through 2003.
